eTA Kanada bei Reisen mit minderjährigen Kindern

If you want to travel with the whole family to Canada, you also need a separate eTA permit for each child. The application of an eTA Canada has special conditions. Here you will find the necessary information and how to apply for an eTA Canada especially for children.

Firstly, you must know that persons under the age of 18, as well as in Germany, are considered minors. There is no problem in itself for underage children to enter, but especially if you travel alone or with people who are not your guardian, special security arrangements are made and therefore several documents are needed.

For one, children need to travel independently with whom they travel with their own passport. According to information from the Foreign Office, a children’s passport is in order. An identity card does not entitle you to entry. It is also not enough if the children are carried out in the passport of the parents, each child requires their own personal passport. It should be valid for at least 6 months just as it is for adults, ideally much longer.

You can also apply for the eTA Canada application on behalf of another person, which means that it is no problem for your children to apply for the eTA for Canada entry. Note that you will make a separate application for each person, as each person will also be issued their own passport-bound Canada eTA entry permit.

Underage children who enter Canada without parents or guardians are subject to much stricter controls, especially in connection with trafficking and possibly missing children. So make sure that if your child or children travel unaccompanied to Canada, you must have all the necessary documentation with you, including a confirmation and necessary contact details of the parent or guardian.

If children travel with adults who are not their parents or guardians, you will need a written confirmation from the parent / guardian. In addition, parents / guardians should provide their emergency numbers and attach copies of their passports in this confirmation.

As you can see, there are a few things to keep in mind when traveling with children or children flying alone to Canada. Although there is no need for a Canada visa, but only the eTA for entry Canada, but still make sure that all the necessary documents are brought. But even for children, the application for an eTA entry permit is not a problem.
